Pickled Pirates Racing - Stability Pass + Rails 8.1 Upgrade: Cleaner UI, Calmer CI, and Safer Admin Updates

A stability pass with a Rails 8.1 upgrade, cleaned UI, fixed CI failures, and safer admin updates.

This release was about getting the app stable and boring in the best way: cleaned up mobile layout rough edges, tightened navigation/footer behavior, and fixed a handful of UI regressions. We hardened admin image uploads and product pricing toggles, and cleaned up validations so “Coming Soon” doesn’t break saves. CI noise got crushed with a full lint sweep, corrected fixtures, and test route fixes that matched real paths. Then we bumped core dependencies and moved to Rails 8.1.2, added the new framework defaults file, CI config, and the Active Storage migrations required for the upgrade. Result: tests are green, deploys are quiet, and the public pages render reliably even with missing data. Oh and that stupid deploy failed email from GitHub is a thing of the past for another week or 2.
